MyChar Discord bot

Live

The community bot for the MyChar server: tickets, giveaways, role selection, suggestions, welcomes and boost perks.

Problem

A product community on Discord needs structure before it grows, not after: new members need onboarding, questions need an orderly intake instead of scattered DMs, and engagement needs a reason to happen. None of that runs itself.

What we built

A modular community bot where each concern is its own module:

  • A ticket system with transcripts for support intake
  • Giveaways for community engagement and launch moments
  • A role selector, so members pick their own interests and notification preferences
  • Rules and welcome modules that onboard every new member consistently
  • A suggestions module, so feature ideas from the community land in one structured place
  • Server-boost perks that reward the members who support the server

Stack

discord.js on Node.js with MongoDB, structured as independent modules so features can be added or removed per community.

Outcome

The MyChar server onboards members, collects product feedback and handles support intake without manual moderation work. The suggestions module doubles as a product research channel: ideas from the community feed directly into what gets built next.
